Honoring Mike Smith - KurtLutgert.org
Home / General updates from Kurt Lutgert  / Honoring Mike Smith

“The best way to honor someone who has passed is to live.”

– Marvin Sapp

Today we honor Mike Smith and this is a quote I think he would have liked. His mission, it seemed to me, involved that very thing; getting people to live. Getting people to wake up. Getting us to see how the only thing holding us back from vibrant living is us.

I acknowledge him for the impact he had on me as a coach and a friend. He has impacted thousands of lives. He started a conversation many years ago that thousands across the world are now involved in. He knew that all the power to create miracles and live the lives of our dreams lies right within us. Yet, we when we rely on outside things to dictate how we feel, we give our power away. We cut ourselves off from being.

Mike taught us to wake up, to step into our purpose and passion for life. To get over the petty bullshit that we allow to churn our emotions at a moments notice. He teaches us to be alive, to have fun, to laugh, to be whole, honest, and aligned with integrity.

“Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.”

– Norman Cousins

Though Mike Smith passed on March 10, 2017, he lives on in all our hearts. He lives in that we live, and that we continue to keep the conversation alive.

When we go forth and vibrantly live ourselves, we honor not only Mike, we honor us all!
